In attempt to save fuel these days, school administration in some cities in Minnesota are cutting school days down to four days. With fuel prices sky rocketing recently, schools are skipping classes every Monday to cut down extra costs on necessities like air conditioning and heating, cafeteria food and classroom supplies.
Although kids are sure to be happy with shorter school days, there is still a cost to the cut back. Working parents have to consider finding a day care for their children on Mondays and since school days will have longer hours than usual to compensate for missed school day, kids would have to stay alert later in the day.

Tabs on Desktop Properties
Posted by Cathy at 7:15 PM
Had a quite day at work. I didn’t do much. I finished imaging a laptop for an employee working at San Jose at noon and cleaned up desktop that had few turds (that’s how we call virus in the office) in it. It’s amazing seeing how carelessly people just download programs from the Internet to their computer.
My boss is in Chicago today working on merging servers on some of the branches. One of the employees was asking Papa Smurf (that’s what we call our boss) about how his laptop has been acting up lately. Papa Smurf got it cleaned by running few cleaners on it then updated Windows afterwards. He came back to him complaining how can’t change the desktop background or the screensaver anymore since tabs were completely missing. If this happens to you, try this:
Manual Steps Using Windows XP RegistryClick Start and then Run. Type regedit.exe in the Run dialog box then Enter.
The Registry Editor will open up then you need to navigate to:HKCU > Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Policies > System Right-click NoDispScrSavPage to select Modify. Change the value to 0.
Quit the Registry Editor just simply clicking the X on the right hand of the window.
Simple steps that you can definitely do it yourself. The internet offers a lot of topics on how works things around your computer. Just make sure you read the steps clearly and carefully.

Keep It Going
Posted by Cathy at 4:33 PM...down I mean. For 25 days consecutively fuel prices here in my city has been going down dramatically. So far I have seen .20 cents in three days. That is pretty good to know considering it went up a dollar in two weeks about two months ago if I can remember it correctly. I’m just glad I live only 8 miles from work. Some friends I know drive at least 45 minutes to work. In addition to the daily traffic congestion they have to go through to get to work, can you imagine how much gallons of fuel they burned?
Even with the short driving distance to work, I am still considering getting a new smaller, more fuel-efficient car to drive. Have you seen those smart cars lately? I read the specs here below.
I’m not quite sure how safe it is to drive it on the major highway with the speed limit of 65 mph or above. But I have a kid and buying one doesn’t seem like a smart idea.
View the full specification here.

My Famous Hollywood Line
Posted by Cathy at 5:20 PM“What if someone you never met, someone you never saw, someone you never knew was the only someone for you?” Do you remember this line? Yes, it was from the movie “Sleepless in Seattle”. Oh, I loved that movie. So romantic. The first time I saw made thought of it myself… is someone was really out there for me, someone I never saw or knew before was the only one for me? And there was and never been so happier. And did you know that he was very attracted to me and said that I really looked sexy with my long black hair? A definite Victory Hair moment indeed!
If you can relate yourself to that famous hollywood movie line of yours, take the Ultimate Flirting Championship for your Extreme Style by VO5. Grab the widget below and take the challenge yourself. Then come back and leave me a comment and let me know how well your experience was!
